5 WAYS TO PROMOTE PHYSICAL FITNESS IN YOUTH
Recently the younger generation has been struggling with severe health challenges, as they avoid any physical activity and gravitate towards anything with a screen. Youth fitness has been declining steadily as fast food, electronic games, and televisions have captivated them. So schools have introduced Physical fitness activities for students, which focus on their overall well-being.
But to reverse this trend, parents can start by limiting their screen time and refraining from consuming too much fast food. Youngsters need to learn to have fun away from the screen because these habits will be accountable for their future. Here are a few ideas that can help you engage your kids in physical fitness activities.
1. Exercise as a family
To motivate the children to exercise daily, the entire family should participate together. They can go for walks in the morning or evening, have yoga sessions, family bike rides and play many other backyard games.
Indoor Activities
You can organize various fun activities at home like painting a room, having a family bowling night by inviting your kid’s friends, playing table tennis, or any other game that excites your kids. They can also play various other games such as Potato Sack, hide & seek, and water polo.
Invest in After-school Programs
Most parents work full-time and look for a different means to keep their kids occupied by enrolling them in performing arts and more. There are many club memberships and Physical Fitness Programs that emphasize on health and well-being of children.
Encourage Teen-Specific Nutrition Education
It is vital to have the right nutrients in your diet to aim for physical fitness. Various counselors offer Nutrition education programs for youth that educate them about diverse issues like- weight loss and preventing heart diseases. It also inspires them to eat healthily.
Outdoor Recommendations
A 10-minute outdoor exercise or a workout is good to start. Take your dog out for a walk every day, go out biking with your friends after dinner, or put up a basketball or badminton net in your backyard and have family tournaments.
